If you’re following me then I’m pretty sure you are already living or are on the path to a healthy lifestyle. If you’re new here Welcome! I’m a Hodgkins Lymphoma survivor and being behind the chair was very taxing on my body. So any way that I can help you avoid going through what I did I’m all here for it! Here’s some foods that built me up along the way. ⬇️
Start by incorporating these simple steps:
- Reduce intake of red and processed meats by choosing fish, seafood or poultry, or going meatless more often. I love to do this! There are many great plant-based protein options such as beans, lentils, peas and tofu. Eat them a few times per week.
- Choose whole grains or other whole food carbohydratesrather than processed carbohydrates at meals. Try spaghetti squash or veggie noodles instead of pasta. Switch to brown rice or quinoa instead of white rice.
- Eat salad as your meal. Top it off with nuts, seeds or beans as a protein source.
- Eat fruit for dessert.
🥦🥬🧅Daily Healthy Foods for a Cancer-Free Lifestyle🥦😅
1. **Leafy Greens**: Spinach, kale, and collard greens are rich in vitamins and antioxidants.🥬🥬🥬
2. **Berries**: Blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries are packed with cancer-fighting phytochemicals.🍓🍓🍓
3. **Cruciferous Vegetables**: Broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts contain compounds that help detoxify the body.🥦🥦🥦
4. **Nuts and Seeds**: Almonds, walnuts, and flaxseeds provide healthy fats and essential nutrients.
5. **Whole Grains**: Brown rice, quinoa, and oats offer fiber and important minerals.
6. **Fatty Fish**: Salmon, mackerel, and sardines are high in omega-3 fatty acids, which reduce inflammation. 🍣🍣
7. **Garlic and Onions**: These contain sulfur compounds that can help reduce cancer risk. 🧄🧄(also great for hairgrowth)
8. **Legumes**: Beans, lentils, and chickpeas are excellent sources of protein and fiber.
9. **Fruits**: Apples, oranges, and bananas provide essential vitamins and antioxidants.🍒🍎🍑
10. **Green Tea**: This beverage is rich in antioxidants that help protect cells from damage. 🍵🍵🍵
### Two Tips to Stay Cancer-Free
1. **Regular Exercise**: Engage in at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity most days of the week. I loveeee to walk. This oxygenates your body and helps fight free radicals. Exercise helps maintain a healthy weight, boosts the immune system, and reduces inflammation.
2. **Avoid Tobacco and Limit Alcohol**: Quit smoking and avoid secondhand smoke. Limit alcohol consumption. Not over one drink a day ladies.💁🏽♀️💁🏽♀️
